Game is smooth, new game world generation is somewhat slower than running in standard WinXP DOS box.

WinXP, AMD 2000+, ran from USB 2.0 memory card reader Runs nice and smooth, but I can't enter anything into text dialogs, seems to ignore keyboard input. The FX sound is working for me, but I cannot get the music to play, however I'm experiencing the exact same problem with microsoft virtual PC so im wondering if its somthing other than the software. Sound FX and Music work fine as well, in Sound Blaster Pro II Emulation The lag that occurs if you run the game under Windows, does not occur with the emulator. My 3400+ Athlon 64 has not problem and I'm happy about it. You will need a modern CPU to play the game smoothly, at 15000-20000 CPU Cycles. Windows cannot emulate EMS memory in NFORCE chipsets with the LAN enabled, but this software does just fine. I downloaded this emulator just to play this game. Its working just dandy in Linux DosBOX and an AthlonXP 2400+. Normally it corrects it but it is a little annoying because some times it happens frequently.Įverything including sound works perfectly on a p2 666Mhz running windows 2000.
#MAGIC DOSBOX SBTYPE FULL#
The game runs nice and smooth but frequently the image turns to 16 colours when I run it in full screen. It crashed once (in many hours of play) but that was probably just the game MoO is back for me, baby.
#MAGIC DOSBOX SBTYPE MOVIE#
Even the intro movie is as quick as I've ever seen it. Runs like the wind, with all sound, on a PIII 1.2GhZ laptop running Windows XP. Transitions to event movies is a bit slow but they run normally once started. I do not know why the setting was like that, I definitely had not switched it off myself. Enabling music there was all I needed to do to get music working. After trying basically everything I could think of, I noticed that in the game options screen (where you usually don't even need to go) the sound setting was set to SFX only. I had the same problem as some people here and on other boards, namely that the midi music wasn't working, even though sound effects were. Also, make sure you set sbtype=sbpro2 in your dosbox conf file for MOO. Use arrow keys and spacebar to select Soundblaster Pro. The DOS interface of that executable will allow you set set hardware configurations. Make sure you run MOO's install.exe before playing. I haven't been able to play MOO for almost 15 years because I keep upgrading my computer.
#MAGIC DOSBOX SBTYPE HOW TO#
Does anyone know how to solve this? I have a recent PC, a Phenom II X4 with 2 GB of RAM running Windows XP. I'm using DOSBox v0.74 and the game works fine but when you click there's a long delay between the click and the action being taken. After that it runs as well as it ever did on an old machine. But I don't remember the loading being so slow, especially the black screen even before the blue loading text. I always experienced a little delay after clicking, especially on a huge galaxy size.
